The Blueprint & The Philosophy

Foundations of a Foundry: Building Mektix Studio

Welcome to the first entry of the Mektix devlog! Before the first line of code was written for our debut title, Windle, we had to build the “factory” where this game would be made.

Our studio philosophy is built on the FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) movement. We believe that the best tools are the ones that belong to the community. That’s why our stack is lean, powerful, and open:

  • Engine: Godot 4 (The powerhouse behind our 2D physics).
  • Art: Inkscape (Vector-based precision for our mechanical world).
  • Web Hosting: Krystal.io – We’ve opted for this UK-based host to keep our development logs and site lightweight, fast, and green.

What is Windle? The goal is to create a vertical platformer that feels “heavy.” Not just in its physics, but in its atmosphere. We’re building a world of steam, pressure, and ancient machinery. With our studio infrastructure now live and our social channels ready, it’s time to start the climb.
